On the 60th anniversary! (Left-right): Dr. Charles Donald, Vera Evans (nee Chamberlain), Bessie Smith, and Cora McGowan. Rev. Dr. Charles Donald was minister of St. John's United Church from 1960-1969. Ordained in 1915, he had spent 15 years in India, and served several churches around Ontario. Upon his retirement, he came to Oakville. In the words of Rev. Jim Terry, "to know Dr. Donald is to love him". Vera Evans (nee Chamberlain) was the wife of S. R. Evans. Bessie Smith was the wife of Don L. Smith. |
