Commins Music Hall |
Description |
This elaborate music hall was built in 1894 by J. E. Commins on the north-east corner of Colborne Street (now Lakeshore Road) and Dundas Street (now Trafalgar Road). He has a line-up of shows such as Pauline Johnson performing recitations, Sheridan's "The Rivals" performed by Leroy Kenney, "Mrs Jarley's WaxWorks" and "Ten Night in a Bar Room". It burned down in 1898 with suspicion that it was purposefully set on fire as it was not a very profitable business. |
