  5. The yacht "Virginian",1930 - owned by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lefebvre (Holyrood) in Oakville. This photograph was taken on Lake Ontario in the early 1930s. It was moored in Oakville Harbour during this period. The Yacht's last years were spend as a sight seeing craft out of Midland on Georgian Bay.

  10. Thomas H. Ashbury (1847-1917) - Thomas Henry Ashbury (1847-1917) ran the Ashbury Mill (formerly the Oakville Mill) in the early 20th century. Originally from Blyth, Ontario, Thomas revolutionized his mill by adding new machinery, including what was (in 1911) the largest overshot wheel in Canada. He was the father of Herb A. Ashbury.

  11. Thomas Harker (1862-1952) - Thomas "Tom" Harker (1862-1952) owned and ran his own general store, located on Colborne Street (now called Lakeshore Road East). He was a member of St. John's United Church.

  12. Thomas Harker's store - Located on Colborne St. (now Lakeshore Rd. East). Photo shows Mae Litchfield (store clerk, seen on the far right), John Hannah (aged 16 years old), and Thomas Harker (1862-1952), who owned the store. The store was located at 215 Lakeshore Road (north side of Lakeshore Road). Mr. Harker sold the property to John Spencer Fraser in 1944 who in turn "sold" it to Spencer Fraser Hardware. Mr. Harker took over the business from D. W. Coote and W.H.Tuck in 1905 on the retirement of Mr. Coote.
