1. 74 Trafalgar Road- House of Robert Leach - Built in 1837. Robert Leach (1809-1854) worked as a carpenter. He and his brothers, Ransom and William, learned their trade from their father, Joshua Leach (a cabinet maker). Robert Leach also helped build Oakville's Methodish Church in 1830. Originally stood on the south east corner of Lakeshore Road and Trafalgar, but now on the north east corner of Trafalgar and Robinson. 4 images.

18. God is in the Attic - Written by Herbert C. Merry. Published 1979 by Herbert C. Merry. This copy is signed by the author. "A nostalgic look at events as they occurred in Oakville, Ontario around the turn of the century. "God is in the Attic" deals with the author's life as a very, very young boy. The book tells of a return to King's Castle, the author's birthplace - a many gabled, four storied house now under renovation and new ownership. It describes various and amusing happenings that took place in the often carefree years preceeding the First World War Armistice. Childhood "goings on" were just as mischievious in those days as now - there were not the distractions of to-day. Trips to ice cream parlors, toy shops, butcher shops, the Church and barn are all described in amusing fashion. There is even a Castle ghost. "God is in the Attic" is chock-full of pleasant recollections. It gently reminds the reader of times and places when life was lived at a more leisurely and happier pace. It contains no violence - no sex - no politics. Its just a pleasant book to read."
