Description |
Photographed in 1972. Located on the south-east corner of King Street and Navy Street. In 1834, John Moore bought the plot of land from William Chisholm and built this house. In 1838, his father-in-law, Barnet Griggs, owned the house and leased it to various tenants before he converted it into a hotel. It was a hotel from 1853 to 1860 and was named the Frontier House. It ceased to be a hotel in 1860 and in 1870 Robert Swanton Appelbe bought the house. |
