Originally built in 1835. Captain Peter McCorquodale (1805-1870) worked as a Mariner and Shipbuilder. Originally from Scotland, Peter came to Canada in 1830, and lived in this house for nearly sixty years. He co-owned and commanded the "Royal Tar". He was the father of Duncan, Robert, and James McCorquodale, who were also sailors themselves. |
